Editing

“So,” I can hear you asking, “you edit too?”

Yes, I edit, too. I got started line-editing for Lyrical Press in 2010, spent a couple of years at a press no one has heard of, and then four years at Samhain Publishing, which more people have heard of. Samhain is where I developed my style and the bulk of my client base, as once they closed their doors, my authors needed guidance on self-publishing. I was happy to provide it.

In addition to working with authors, I’ve also worked with agents and other small presses in a freelance capacity. While romance is what I’ve edited most, I have experience across many genres, including but not limited to YA, thriller, mystery, horror, science fiction, fantasy, and erotica.

My philosophy is that the relationship between editor and author should be collaborative and educational. The end goal is to deliver the best possible version of your story. That said, I am increasingly selective in taking on new clients to help balance out my personal writing, but I’d love the chance to talk if you have a project you’d like me to consider.
